About the program
At Lockheed Martin Australia, we believe that when people are empowered, inspired, and AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
Your responsibilities will include:
Working closely with the AIR6500 Support System Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring effective delivery of Support Services outcomes in accordance with program plans, driving maintenance excellence, and ensuring optimal system availability and supportability across the AIR6500 capability.
Key Responsibilities-
Lead the Logistics Engineering team to deliver LSA, MRD, and sustainment outcomes for AIR6500.
- Drive maintenance planning, execution, and continuous improvement to maximise system availability and reliability.
- Provide technical leadership across spares, codification, LSAR, and maintenance systems (e.g. CAMM2, ERP).
- Ensure compliance with maintenance plans, technical information, and quality frameworks (RQO-MAINT).
- Oversee workforce capability, resourcing, and development across people, process, tools, and training.
- Analyse maintenance data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.

Monitor and report KPIs, schedules, and sustainment performance to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and support networks to deliver program outcomes.
- Lead audits, governance, and assurance across maintenance and sustainment activities.
- Coach and develop team members while driving a culture of continuous improvement.
About you:
Reporting to the
Sustainment Engineering Manager, the
Logistics Engineering Lead is responsible for leading the AIR6500 Logistics Engineering Team within the Engineering Support Services Workstream.
The role delivers
Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) and
Maintenance Requirements Definition (MRD) activities, ensuring sustainment engineering outcomes are achieved across the program. You will work closely with the AIR6500 Support System Manager to ensure integrated support solutions deliver maximum operational availability, maintainability, and Best for Enterprise outcomes.
If you have:-
Experience in MRO environments (RQO‑MAINT or similar)
- Strong maintenance planning and scheduled maintenance execution skills
- Leadership experience across logistics, maintenance, or engineering teams
- Knowledge of LSA, MRD, and sustainment engineering
- Proficiency with CMMS and maintenance data systems
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex technical data
- Experience developing maintenance plans and documentation
- Strong stakeholder and contractor management skills
- Proven ability to deliver KPIs, schedules, and performance outcomes

MS Dynamics, CAMM2, Eagle and Defence ERP systems experience are highly desirable

Experience in Defence sustainment or complex engineered systems and familiarity with LSAR or integrated logistics databases are highly advantageous
