About the role
As a Peer Worker, you will draw upon your lived experience of mental health recovery to develop an empathetic and supportive relationship with people who struggle with mental health in regional and remote communities.
You will promote, encourage and facilitate effective recovery activities aimed at supporting people maintain their mental health and wellbeing.
This role can be based in either Bourke or Brewarrina and will work closely with the Community Mental Health Drug & Alcohol team and local community support services to provide an essential mental health service to communities that need it most.
Please note – this position will help support Western NSW Local Health District in providing a flexible response to the diverse needs or local communities and priority population groups in the event of a disaster or rural adversity, as per the Disaster Response and Recovery Model of Care.
