Hobsons Bay Hotel is looking for an experienced and energetic Assistant Venue Manager to join our leadership team in Williamstown.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a hospitality professional ready to step up, take ownership and make a real impact. Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading the team, overseeing daily operations and ensuring consistently high standards across the venue.
About the Role
As Assistant Venue Manager, you will:
- Lead and motivate the team during busy services
- Support the Venue Manager with the day-to-day running of the venue
- Deliver exceptional service and maintain high operational standards
- Support staff training, development and performance
- Assist with rostering and labour management
- Monitor stock and assist with cost control
- Ensure compliance with venue policies, procedures and relevant regulations
- Help create a positive, professional and high-performing team culture
- Step into the Venue Manager’s role when required
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- An experienced hospitality leader with previous management or supervisory experience
- Confident leading a team in a fast-paced venue
- Hands-on, proactive and willing to lead from the front
- A strong communicator with excellent people skills
- Organised and commercially minded, with sound operational knowledge
- Passionate about delivering great service and creating memorable guest experiences
- Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
