About the role
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years post apprenticeship experience in Agricultural broad acre Machinery, will be hands-on and results driven, with the desire to make this a long term position. Technical and diagnostic knowledge is paramount for this position, as is attention to detail and pride in your work as an Agricultural technician.
During harvest there will be plenty of opportunity for overtime.
Position description
· Pre-delivery inspections and alterations to the machine setup to suit customer demands including fitting OEM upgrades. This includes changes in mechanical components minor and major. Changes to hydraulic systems and hydraulic autosteer setup.
· Pre-season checks on Combine Harvesters and fronts, self-propelled sprayers and tractors. This includes inspecting the equipment and estimating labour and parts to quote customers and advise them on the repairs needed.
· Field data gathering on problem machinery to send on to engineers to rectify software and hardware issues.
· Diagnostics on CAN based machine electronics and hydraulic systems, which requires recording hydraulic readings and controller generated fault codes to identify problems.
· Pre-season repairs and maintenance. This includes organising parts and consumables needed to maintain agricultural machines and getting all this ready before heading out to the farms to do repairs.
· Ensure that finished work is within the specifications of the equipment's manual by running pre and post repair electrical and hydraulic systems checks and comparing to workshop manuals and product bulletins.
