The role
We require the services of an Operations Manager to take accountability for the overall operational performance of Dapto Mall for a fixed period of 6 months, ensuring the Centre is safe, secure and meets customer and tenant presentation standards.
The role covers the areas of contractor management, environmental sustainability management, risk management, tenancy delivery and retailer engagement, centre management and national property operations.
What you will be doing
Managing the site operational team, providing leadership and guidance to ensure that activities are prioritised and diligently and efficiently completed.
Assuming accountability for all operationally delivered projects on site and ensure they are integrated and completed with minimum interruption to the building, and within timeframes and budgets.
Undertaking lifecycle capital analysis planning to determine capital requirements to inform the long term asset planning and provide guidance and assistance to the Capital Works
Managing specialist contractors to ensure compliance and preparing tenders and contract documentation, including tender pricing for all works and services on the asset.
Providing assistance to Tenancy Delivery contractors, ensuring compliance with GPT policies & procedures and fit out adherence with centre fire engineering, technical services designs, structural engineering requirements and aesthetics.
Driving the safety culture across the asset, both with GPT employees and our contractors and take accountability for emergency evacuation procedures and other crisis management situations.
Working in close collaboration with the National Operations Team and operational peers to maximise the performance of the property in terms of sustainability.
Ensuring a culture of service amongst direct reports to assist other Centre Management members in resolving common area and tenant issues
Managing the late night/weekend shift roster
What makes you stand out
Your significant prior experience in facilities services or property operations, within the retail property sector or construction industry with proven project management skills including contract and contractor management combined with well-honed negotiation skills and the ability achieve set goals.
Your excellent understanding of building codes and regulations, coupled with an sound experience managing safety, risk and emergency management. In addition, strong commercial acumen and financial management, with experience with budgeting and forecasting; are also required for this position.
You will also need exceptional communication skills, the ability to develop effective working relationships and have strong skills across the MS Office suite.
This contract would suit a proactive Operations/Facilities leader who has worked within the retail sector and is solution and safety oriented.
