Cadence Connect is partnering with a large, established organisation to appoint a
Financial Accounting Manager on a
12-month fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
Operating within a sizeable and sophisticated finance function, this is an excellent opportunity to join a complex corporate environment with strong systems, established processes and exposure across a broad range of financial accounting activities.
With a
mid-September commencement targeted, we are looking to commence client introductions shortly.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for leading the financial accounting function and a small team, while ensuring the delivery of accurate statutory, group and month-end reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leadership and development of the financial accounting team
- Statutory financial statement preparation and group reporting
- Balance sheet ownership and reconciliation oversight
- Management and coordination of the annual audit process
- Month-end close, journals and reporting
- Oversight of intercompany and treasury accounting
- Technical accounting and interpretation of accounting standards
- Maintaining strong financial controls and governance
- Supporting continuous improvement across financial accounting processes
The position currently has
three direct reports and works closely with finance, treasury, management accounting and operational stakeholders across the broader organisation.
About You
We are open to considering candidates from two different backgrounds. You may already be an experienced
Financial Accounting Manager who can quickly take ownership of the function and provide stability and leadership throughout the 12-month period.
Alternatively, you may be a technically strong
Senior Financial Accountant looking for the opportunity to step into a large complex environment a gain exposure to leadership within a larger organisation.
Either way, we are looking for:
- Strong technical financial accounting capability
- CA or CPA qualification
- Experience within a large or complex organisation
- Strong statutory reporting and accounting standards knowledge
- Previous leadership, mentoring or team supervision experience
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple stakeholders
- SAP and/or Hyperion exposure would be advantageous
Above all, we are looking for someone who is technically capable, approachable and comfortable being part of a broader finance team rather than simply managing from a distance.
