About the role
Provide clinical leadership and role modelling to support the delivery of evidence-based, patient-centred care in accordance with the McGrath Foundation Model of Care.
Actively participate in the multidisciplinary breast cancer team, undertaking comprehensive assessment of patients and carers and coordinating ongoing care.
Deliver expert clinical support, information, and advice to patients with metastatic breast cancer, their families and carers throughout the care continuum.
Serve as a specialist resource for healthcare professionals across the St Vincent's Health Network Sydney, providing advanced clinical expertise in metastatic breast cancer management.
Contribute to the development and delivery of specialty-specific education programs and support professional development within the clinical team.
Lead and enhance specialist metastatic breast cancer services through innovative, evidence-based practice, clinical guideline implementation, and coordination of treatment pathways, referrals, and supportive care services.
About you
Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Minimum 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration nursing experience, including at least 3 years full-time recent experience in Oncology, Palliative Care, or Cancer Stream-specific nursing.
Approved post registration nursing qualifications relevant to the field or equivalent qualifications and/or experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent's Hospital Sydney.
Demonstrated knowledge of the physical and psychosocial needs of patients with metastatic breast cancer, including common treatment regimens, and the ability to provide effective education and support to patients, families, and carers.
Advanced clinical assessment, care planning, and complex case management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, documentation, leadership, teaching, organisational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Proven ability to lead and implement evidence-based practice improvements, including experience in policy, procedure, guideline development, and strategic and clinical service planning.
