Advance Institute Australia is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Trainer and Assessor to deliver and assess the CPC31020 Certificate III in Solid Plastering qualification.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced solid plastering professional who is passionate about mentoring apprentices and students while maintaining the highest standards of vocational education and training.

About the Role
As a Trainer and Assessor, you will deliver quality training and competency-based assessment to students undertaking the CPC31020 Certificate III in Solid Plastering. The qualification prepares learners for trade outcomes in residential and commercial solid plastering, including interior plaster finishes, external rendering and decorative plastering.
You will ensure all training and assessment activities comply with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package, and Advance Institute Australia's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom, workshop and practical training sessions.
- Conduct valid, fair and reliable competency-based assessments.
- Demonstrate practical solid plastering techniques and supervise hands-on training.
- Assess students against the requirements of the CPC31020 qualification.
- Provide constructive feedback and learner support.
- Maintain accurate training, assessment and student records.
- Participate in validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain current vocational competency and industry currency.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and RTO standards.
Essential Requirements Training and Assessment Qualifications
Applicants must hold one of the following (or an equivalent credential recognised under current regulatory requirements):
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- another approved training and assessment qualification.
Vocational Qualifications
Applicants must hold:
- CPC31020 Certificate III in Solid Plastering, or
- CPC31011 Certificate III in Solid Plastering, or
- a higher-level qualification in solid plastering or construction that demonstrates vocational competency relevant to the qualification being delivered and assessed. CPC31020 supersedes and is equivalent to CPC31011.
Industry Experience
Applicants must demonstrate:
- A recent industry experience in solid plastering.
- Experience working on residential and commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Interior solid plastering.
- External rendering.
- Decorative plaster finishes.
- Surface preparation and finishing techniques.
- Mixing and applying plaster, cement and rendering materials.
- Reading plans and specifications.
- Current knowledge of Australian Standards, construction practices and Work Health and Safety requirements.
- Current industry skills and knowledge relevant to the qualification.
Additional Requirements
- Demonstrated vocational competency relevant to CPC31020.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to effectively engage and support adult learners.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining industry currency.
- Current General Construction Induction (White Card) is highly desirable. Completion of the general construction induction training program is required for construction work, with CPCWHS1001 meeting this requirement.
Desirable
- Previous experience delivering training within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Experience delivering apprenticeship training.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Management Systems (SMS).
- Knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
- Experience participating in assessment validation and moderation.
- Experience developing or reviewing training and assessment resources.
