Position Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of SMSF Financial Statements
- Completion of SMSF Annual Returns
- Preparation of Tax Reconciliations
- Reconciliations of investment balances and investment returns
- Calculation of pension liabilities
- BAS & IAS Statements as required
- Preparation of electronic workpapers
- Preparation of audit packages and liaising with external auditors
- Preparation of Trustee documentation
- Ensuring work is completed within budget and time constraints
- Liaise with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients, including the ATO and ASIC
- Work with the Client Director and team to ensure client work is completed within allocated timeframes
- Preparation of correspondence to clients and other bodies as required
- Support and mentor junior team members as needed
About You
- Minimum 4 years' experience in SMSF accounting within a chartered accounting practice
- Strong technical SMSF knowledge, with the ability to work autonomously and manage your own portfolio
- Able to work full-time or part-time (minimum three days per week)
- Hands-on experience with SMSF software such as Class Super or BGL360
- Confident preparing and reviewing complex SMSF work end-to-end
- Degree qualified, CA completed or near completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients and statutory bodies
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A proactive, client-focused approach and the maturity to mentor and support junior team members
