We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our growing team.
About the Role
As our Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring every project is prepared, documented and managed in accordance with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), local authority requirements and company procedures.
Working closely with our designers, estimators, supervisors and administration team, you will review project documentation, identify compliance requirements and help ensure projects are ready for construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Review residential renovation plans, drawings and specifications for compliance.
- Interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Assess project documentation against Australian Standards, NCC and relevant building regulations.
- Review estimates, scopes of work and project costings for accuracy and completeness.
- Liaise with designers, estimators, supervisors, engineers and local councils where required.
- Prepare and maintain compliance documentation and project records.
- Assist with permit and approval requirements.
- Identify potential compliance issues before construction commences.
- Ensure company procedures and quality assurance standards are consistently followed.
- Support continuous improvement of internal compliance processes.
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience in the residential building or construction industry (essential).
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC) and residential building practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience reviewing construction estimates, scopes of work and project costings.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies before work begins.
- Strong computer skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and construction software.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Highly Regarded
- Experience with residential renovations.
- Knowledge of local council approvals and permit processes.
- Experience using Buildxact or similar construction management software.
- Understanding of Western Australian residential building legislation and compliance requirements.
