What your day could look like
As a Transcription Services Officer, you'll help keep vital information flowing across the health service. By supporting digital transcription processes and providing responsive system support, you'll contribute to efficient clinical workflows and help healthcare teams access accurate information when they need it most.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
Supporting the timely and accurate delivery of clinical documentation that underpins patient care
Assisting staff with system enquiries and practical solutions that improve efficiency and user confidence
Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to maintain high service standards
Contributing to process improvements that enhance information management and workflow performance

You're someone who enjoys creating order, solving problems and helping others succeed. You have a keen eye for detail, a strong customer focus and the confidence to work independently while building positive relationships across a busy organisation. You take pride in accurate work and understand that even behind-the-scenes roles can make a real difference to patients, clinicians and the wider community.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
Strong administrative, keyboard and technology skills with excellent attention to detail
Knowledge of medical terminology, or the ability to quickly develop this capability
Experience using digital systems and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to professionalism and confidentiality
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in healthcare administration, medical records or digital transcription services, and/or formal training in medical terminology.
