The opportunity
As the Community Development Programs Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting and delivering community health, wellbeing and engagement programs while helping activate and manage the Brooklyn Community Hall. This is a hands on, community focused role that combines program coordination, participant engagement, administration, venue management and stakeholder liaison to create welcoming and inclusive opportunities for local residents.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate and support delivery of community health and wellbeing programs, including Sons of the West and Daughters of the West
- Manage program administration, bookings, communications, promotion and event logistics
- Engage with participants and connect them to community services, activities and opportunities
- Support the administration, activation and day-to-day operations of Brooklyn Community Hall
- Liaise with community groups, service providers, facilitators and internal Council teams to ensure successful program outcomes
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven program coordination or project administration experience, ideally in a community setting
- Understanding of community development, health promotion or community engagement principles
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
- Relevant qualification and/or experience in community services, health promotion, community development or a related field
- Venue booking system experience desirable
