About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our medical centre team. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a general practice setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in accordance with professional standards and clinical guidelines.
- Conduct patient assessments, triage, wound care, immunisations, injections, and care planning.
- Assist GPs with procedures, chronic disease management, health assessments, and care coordination.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with medico-legal requirements.
- Support practice operations, including cold chain monitoring, infection control, recalls/reviews, and clinical audits.
- Educate patients on health promotion, chronic disease self-management, and preventative care.
- Collaborate closely with GPs, reception staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold best practice standards within the clinic.
Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably within a general practice or primary healthcare setting.
- Competency in immunisations, wound management, triage, and chronic disease care.
- Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to providing patient-centred, culturally safe, and high-quality care.
Desirable Skills (Optional)
- Experience with Best Practice or Medical Director software.
- Completion of Immunisation Certification (if applicable).
- Experience in care plans, health assessments, and preventative health workflows.
- Knowledge of Medicare item numbers relevant to general practice.
