Due to continued operational requirements and the need to maintain high-performing production equipment, Piber Plastics is seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter and Turner to join its Derrimut-based manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities
- Fitting, adjusting and replacing mechanical parts such as bearings, shafts, rollers, guards, brackets, belts, seals and other machine components.
- Using workshop tools and machinery to cut, drill, grind, shape or modify metal parts required for machine repairs and maintenance.
- Checking repaired or replaced parts to ensure they fit correctly and allow the equipment to operate safely.
- Assisting with the repair, servicing and maintenance of machinery used in plastic injection moulding and packaging production.
- Inspecting production machines, moulding equipment, conveyors and related mechanical parts to identify wear, damage or faults.
- Reading basic drawings, machine manuals and work instructions to understand repair and maintenance requirements.
- Assisting with the set-up, adjustment and alignment of production machinery to support smooth manufacturing operations.
- Carrying out routine maintenance tasks to reduce machine breakdowns and support continuous production.
- Helping to identify and fix basic hydraulic and pneumatic issues on production equipment, including hoses, fittings and lines.
- Supporting mould changeovers, machine adjustments and production start-up activities where mechanical assistance is required.
- Working with production staff and supervisors to respond to machine issues during daily operations.
- Keeping tools, work areas and maintenance equipment clean, organised and safe.
- Recording maintenance work, repairs completed and parts used as required by the company.
- Following workplace health and safety procedures and maintaining safe work practices within the manufacturing facility.
- Supporting the business in maintaining reliable production, consistent product quality and efficient turnaround times for plastic packaging products.
Skills and Experience Required
- At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter or similar trade role.
- An AQF Certificate III or Certificate IV in a relevant mechanical trade, or an equivalent overseas trade qualification.
Hours: 38 hours per week - Full-time
Salary: $75,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation per annum
