As our Clinical Nurse Consultant for Palliative Care, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exemplary care. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing advanced clinical consultation and expert advice to nursing staff, medical teams, and allied health professionals on all aspects of palliative care.

Developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based palliative care policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.

Leading and participating in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex palliative care needs.

Acting as a key resource for education and professional development for staff, enhancing their knowledge and skills in palliative care.

Facilitating multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to collaborative care planning.

Advocating for patients and their families, ensuring their choices, values, and cultural needs are respected throughout their care journey.

Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and research activities within palliative care.

Mentoring and supporting nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

Liaising with community palliative care services to ensure seamless transitions of care.
About You
We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Consultant who demonstrates:

Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, enabling effective engagement with patients, families, and colleagues.

Experience in developing and delivering education and training programs.
Essential Criteria

Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Postgraduate qualification in Palliative Care, or working towards same, or extensive experience in a dedicated palliative care role.

Minimum five years post-graduate experience, with at least three years in a senior clinical role within palliative care.

Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and formulate care plans for complex palliative care patients.

Experience in leadership, education, and quality improvement activities.
