Primary objective
As part of the Early Careers team, provide high-quality, client-focused support to Northern Territory Government (NTG) agencies and
employees through the delivery and promotion of NTG Early Careers programs. The role coordinates marketing, communications, events
and stakeholder engagement activities, and develops and maintains partnerships with schools, universities and other key stakeholders to
attract and recruit future talent into the NTG workforce.
Context statement
The Department of Corporate and Digital Development’s Workforce Development team delivers strategic workforce initiatives to meet
client agency requirements and achieve improved workforce outcomes across the NTG. The Early Careers team is responsible for the
management and coordination of six centralised Early Careers employment programs designed to attract, develop and retain new talent
into the NTG.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including schools and universities.
2. Develop and coordinate the end-to-end delivery of the Early Careers annual training and promotional events calendar.
3. Prepare engaging communications and promotional material such as presentations, flyers, program guides and maintain the Early
Careers website.
4. Collaborate with the DCDD communications team and external contractors, when necessary, to develop and execute marketing and
promotional campaigns.
5. Manage communication projects including targeted marketing campaigns to promote hard to fill vacancies, annual reviews of
marketing strategies, internet and intranet presence and marketing materials with a focus on innovation and market reach.
6. Monitor the analytics of Early Careers program recruitment activities, participants and agency vacancies to produce data supported
reports and analysis.
7. Represent DCDD professionally in a range of forums to promote NTG Early Careers employment programs.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience in the promotion, coordination, implementation and evaluation of employment programs to strengthen workforce
capability.
2. Contemporary knowledge and experience in recruitment processes with a focus on promotion and marketing activities.
3. Demonstrated experience managing high volume workloads with tight deadlines while providing quality customer service.
4. Experience in providing administrative support to a team who deliver coaching and mentoring to client agencies and program
employees.
5. Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships and collaborate with
stakeholders to influence and achieve desired outcomes.
6. Experience in report writing, maintaining data, and reviewing and updating processes, procedures and forms to improve services.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude, which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest and innovative.
