We're seeking a Senior Underwriter - Liability to join our Commercial Underwriting team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced underwriting professional who is passionate about delivering technical excellence, influencing outcomes, and supporting the development of others. Your new role
Underwrite complex new business, renewals and endorsements within delegated authority, delivering timely and commercially sound decisions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers to drive profitable growth and exceptional service outcomes.
Identify, develop and secure profitable business opportunities while maintaining underwriting discipline and compliance standards.
Support, coach and share technical expertise with Underwriters across the team to build capability and underwriting excellence.
Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends and contribute to strategies that optimise profitability and sustainable growth.
Ensure accurate underwriting administration, pricing, risk assessment and policy management activities are completed to a high standard.
About you
Extensive commercial underwriting experience, with strong technical expertise in Liability insurance and complex risk assessment.
Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a profitable portfolio through sound underwriting decisions and broker engagement.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills with brokers, customers and internal teams.
Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting the development of junior underwriters and sharing technical knowledge.
Commercially minded with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret portfolio performance and market trends.
High attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a commitment to underwriting governance, policies and procedures.
