About the Role:
The Head of Unit, Cancer Services, is a key clinical leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality, safe, and patient-centred cancer care across Limestone Coast Local Health Network. The role leads the development and implementation of sustainable cancer care models, driving service excellence, innovation, workforce development, and continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and senior leaders, the position ensures evidence-based clinical practice, quality governance, and alignment with organisational priorities. The role also provides specialist oncology services, supports education and research, and fosters a culture of learning, collaboration, and excellence in cancer care delivery.
About You:
You are an experienced medical leader with specialist oncology expertise and a passion for delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred cancer care. You demonstrate strong clinical leadership, collaborative decision-making, and a commitment to service improvement, education, and research. You thrive in multidisciplinary environments and are committed to developing sustainable models of care.
To succeed in the Head of Cancer Services and Consultant Oncologist role, you will:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or equivalent), with appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration
- Proven Leadership in cancer services and clinical excellence
- Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork and quality care
- Experience in teaching, research and service innovation

Conditions of Employment
- Total Indicative Remuneration (TIRP) includes award salary, professional development, A&R Allowance, Superannuation, Private Practice Arrangements (if applicable).
- A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position.
- A current Department of Human Services (SA) Working with Children Check
- Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A.
- SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
