Your new role:
As a Clinical Midwife Consultant, you will provide advanced clinical and professional leadership across Birth Suites and the Maternity Assessment Centre, supporting the delivery of safe, evidence-based and individualised maternity care. Working closely with the Midwifery Unit Manager, other senior midwives, educators and the multidisciplinary team, you will use your specialist expertise to guide complex clinical decision-making, strengthen contemporary models of care and support midwives to work to their full scope of practice.
This is an opportunity to influence maternity care, support workforce development and contribute to a positive practice environment where women, families and their choices remain at the centre of care.
Undertake clinical rounding and provide support with complex and critical decisions during labour and birth.
Promote safe, compassionate and individualised woman-centred care.
Support midwives and multidisciplinary colleagues in complex and high-risk clinical situations.
Facilitate debriefing, reflective practice, mentoring and professional development.
About you:
You are an experienced and confident midwife who brings advanced clinical knowledge, strong leadership capability and a genuine commitment to woman-centred care. You will be passionate about supporting your colleagues, improving maternity outcomes and creating a positive practice environment where excellence, collaboration, education and continuous improvement are valued.
Demonstrated experience providing senior clinical leadership in a maternity setting.
Strong knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based midwifery practice.
Experience supporting complex and high-risk maternity care.
Proven ability to lead quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
