The Hatch Student Vacation Program provides the opportunity to work on real projects and gain practical industry experience. We will help you through the transition, bridging the gap between your education and career.
As part of the Digital team, you will gain exposure to the delivery of innovative digital, automation, and software solutions across a range of industries. Working alongside experienced engineers and specialists, you will contribute to projects that leverage technology to solve complex operational and engineering challenges. You will have the opportunity to support the development of software applications, automation solutions, and optimisation tools while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to implementation and support.

You bring to the role:
You will be working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, Software or a related discipline), ideally in your third year (or later) of study, with a strong academic record. Candidates will have an interest in applying software programming and digital technologies to solve real-world engineering challenges. You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment, and demonstrate innovative problem-solving abilities.
The 12-week program commences on Monday, 23 November 2026. Please note, during this time Hatch will have its annual office closure from COB Friday, 18 December 2026 and will reopen Monday, 4 January 2027.
