As part of the Performance Reporting and Analytics (PRA) Unit,the Project officer will work with stakeholders to collect, analyse and interpret data, prepare reports and dashboards, and contribute to maintaining high-quality reporting products. They will also support improvements to reporting processes, data quality and reporting systems to help deliver efficient, reliable and timely information.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, validate and analyse data to support accurate and timely performance reporting.
- Prepare dashboards, reports, briefings and other reporting products for internal governance and executive audiences.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the VSBA to gather information and support reporting requirements.
- Contribute to maintaining data quality and identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes and systems.
- Assist in delivering reporting that supports internal governance, departmental, ministerial and whole-of-government obligations.
- Support the team to monitor project performance and provide data-driven insights that inform decision-making.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
- Experience preparing reports, dashboards or other data-driven information products.
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering quality outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables and charts.
- Proficiency in Power Query, Power Pivot and Power BI will be highly regarded.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration and delivering high-quality customer service.
