About the role
Join our dynamic team as a Pastry Chef at Catering Project Sydney, a leading catering and events company located in our well-equipped kitchen in Glebe, NSW. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for creating pastries and sweet petite four style bites that will delight our clients and guests.
What you'll be doing
- Crafting a wide range of high-quality pastries, cakes, and sweets using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
- Working closely with out creative culinary director and head pastry chef to Develop and prepare creative and visually appealing dessert menus and plated presentations.
- Ensuring all pastry items meet the highest standards of taste, texture, and appearance.
- Collaborating with the culinary team to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient pastry kitchen.
- Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Continuously pushing the creative boundary based on market trends.
- Work closely with the lead pastry chef on new product development and help where needed on new projects.
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a fast-paced catering environment.
- Exceptional cake baking and finishing, baking and pastry skills with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
- Solid knowledge and supervisory skills in food safety and hygiene systems with preferred knowledge of HACCP processes.
- Proficient in using a wide range of pastry equipment and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and time management abilities to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the culinary team.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts based on the business needs shift include but not limited to from 2pm to 10pm or 4 am till 12 of the weekdays (Monday to Friday), occasionally on weekends when business needs.

Pay: Up to $90,000.00 per year
