About the Role
We are seeking an experienced (SME) Group Payroll Specialist to lead the governance, compliance, optimisation and continuous improvement of payroll across the Group.
Key Responsibilities

Lead payroll governance, compliance and risk management across the Group.
- Ensure payroll practices comply with legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, ATO obligations and company policies.
- Act as the subject matter expert for Employment Hero Payroll, including configuration, workflows, award rules and system optimisation.
- Drive payroll system improvements, automation, integrations and process efficiencies.
- Provide specialist oversight of payroll operations across multiple entities.
- Support remuneration modelling, payroll reporting, BOOT assessments and compliance reviews.
- Partner with HR, Finance and Operations to provide payroll advice and improve payroll capability across the business.
Selection Criteria

Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years' experience in payroll is required.
- Previous experience working in the construction, mining, or blue collar industry (highly regarded)
- Advanced Employment Hero Payroll experience, implementation, configuration, award rules and workflows (required)
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, ATO obligations and superannuation.
- Experience in payroll compliance, governance, BOOT assessments and reporting.
