We are currently seeking a Service Design Lead to join our People & Transformation team. In this newly created role, you will operationalise human-centred design principles to re-imagine employee and customer experiences across a range of initiatives aligned with our Thriving Communities strategic vision.

About the role
Reporting to our Digital Enablement Manager, your key focus will be to bring agile business transformation practices to life. You'll work collaboratively to deeply understand customer needs, co-create solutions, and drive positive change.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partner with leaders and program managers to integrate human-centred design into strategic initiatives and cross-functional transformation projects that uplift employee and customer experience.
- Translate strategic priorities into coherent human-centred service design approaches and outcomes.
- Lead design outcomes across major initiatives, shaping clear pathways and embedding outputs into operating models, business processes, and service delivery.
- Convene the Design Council, which evaluates and approves improvement opportunities and service design solutions, assessing against Desirability, Feasibility and Sustainability principles
- Act as a champion for design thinking across the organisation, building capability and supporting teams to solve problems through human-centred approaches.
- Measure and monitor the impact of service design initiatives, ensuring solutions deliver meaningful outcomes for customers, employees, and the organisation.
About you
We’re looking for a creative, empathetic, and collaborative design thinker who thrives on solving complex challenges and driving meaningful change.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting complex transformation initiatives from design through to implementation.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to transform data into actionable insights.
- Ability to present and articulate insights and design concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Experience working with agile methodologies and practices e.g. sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Service Design, or related fields.
- Experience with Lean methodologies and CX projects will be highly regarded.
