Active Office Furniture is a Victorian-owned and operated office furniture business with more than 25 years of industry experience.
We supply office furniture and fit-out solutions to corporate and small businesses, education, health, government, construction and trade customers.
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused and hands-on Sales & Showroom Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operation of our Laverton North showroom while a team member is on maternity leave.
This is an important and varied role. You will be the main person responsible for the showroom during the day, handling customer enquiries, sales, quotations, orders and general administration.
As we are a small business, we are looking for someone who is also practical and willing to assist with furniture handling and basic assembly when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the showroom
- Be the primary point of contact for customers in person, by phone and email
- Assist customers with office furniture selection and product advice
- Manage sales enquiries and prepare quotations
- Follow up quotations and convert enquiries into sales
- Process customer orders and prepare purchase orders
- Liaise with suppliers regarding stock availability and delivery timelines
- Coordinate customer pickups and deliveries
- Maintain accurate customer, sales and delivery records
- Build relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Handle general showroom and office administration
- Assist with Facebook Marketplace, Facebook advertising and basic digital marketing where required
- Occasionally assist customers with loading and unloading office furniture
- Assist with basic furniture assembly using standard hand tools when required
- Liaise with management regarding sales, stock, customer issues and operational requirements
- Assist with reasonable duties across related businesses where required
- Maintaining products in woo commerce website (training will be provided)
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in sales, retail, showroom management, customer service or sales administration
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the showroom
- Confident and professional customer service and sales skills
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage several priorities
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable following up customers and closing sales
- Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
- MYOB/Zoho or any accounting software experience essential
- Office furniture, furniture retail, warehouse or trade experience would be highly regarded
- Comfortable safely moving, loading and unloading office furniture when required
- Comfortable using basic tools and assisting with office furniture assembly
- Practical, reliable and hands-on attitude
