About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Legal Secretary to join our Commercial team in Newcastle. Working closely with three Partners and a collaborative team of lawyers, you will play a key role in supporting a diverse commercial practice and contributing to the delivery of exceptional client service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate level Legal Secretary looking to further develop their career within a respected national law firm. While previous commercial law experience is advantageous, it is not essential. We are open to candidates from other legal practice areas who are eager to broaden their skills and build a long-term career in commercial law.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing proactive secretarial and administrative support to three Partners and their legal teams
- Managing diaries, appointments and meeting coordination
- Preparing and amending legal documents, correspondence and presentations
- Opening and closing files, conflict checks and matter management
- Assisting with billing, expense processing and client reporting
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders in a professional and confidential manner
Supporting the team with general practice management and administrative tasks

About You
You are a proactive and organised Legal Secretary with a genuine interest in building your career within a commercial legal practice. You take pride in delivering high-quality work, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a strong commitment to client service.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally at an intermediate level
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A professional, confident and client focused approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical skills across Microsoft Office and legal practice systems
- A willingness to learn and develop within a commercial law environment
A collaborative attitude and a desire to be part of a supportive team
