Are you an up-and-coming Oracle Database Administrator looking to take your career to the next level within a massive enterprise environment? FinXL IT Professional Services is seeking an Associate Oracle DBA for a long-term engagement with one of our premier financial services clients.
This is an incredible opportunity to get hands-on with critical banking systems and cutting-edge database technology. This is a 12-month contract role starting October 1st, offering a hybrid working model (2 days in the office, split between Kogarah and Wynyard) and a salary of up to $85k base + super.
About the Role
This role is designed as an entry point into a highly technical, dynamic team. You will bring your foundational DBA experience and eagerness to learn, and in return, you will gain exposure to enterprise-scale database architecture, automation, and performance tuning. You will assist the senior engineering team in maintaining the stability and availability of essential banking platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the day-to-day management, support, and troubleshooting of Oracle databases.
Support the team with database upgrades and migrations (Note: flexible working hours may be occasionally required to support critical out-of-hours events).
Gain hands-on exposure to maintaining and patching Oracle databases on Exadata.
Help execute routine change, incident, and problem management tasks.
Collaborate with the team using agile methodologies and tools like Confluence and Jira.
Learn and grow your skills in database automation, DevOps, and performance tuning.
About You:
3 to 5 years of practical experience as a Database Administrator.
A solid foundational understanding of the Oracle product suite.
Effective and concise communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
A proactive mindset with strong analytical problem-solving skills and a diligent work ethic.
Nice to have (but not mandatory): Basic scripting skills (SQL, PL/SQL, Shell), or exposure to other databases like PostgreSQL.
