Position Summary:
Singh Mechanical & LPG Repairs Pty Ltd is a well-established automotive repair workshop specialising in mechanical repairs, vehicle servicing, and LPG systems. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of motor vehicles while ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
Main task/Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using specialised diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Perform scheduled servicing and routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, and component replacements.
- Repair and replace defective vehicle components including engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, cooling systems and drivetrains .
- Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and road safety standards.
- Test and inspect vehicles after repairs to verify performance, reliability, and safety.
- Maintain accurate service records and prepare reports detailing repairs and maintenance performed.
- Operate workshop equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Identify additional repair requirements and communicate recommendations to management and customers.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of full-time post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of petrol, diesel, and LPG vehicle systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
