About the Role
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role is responsible for building the SMP capability of the team, ensuring safe and efficient project execution while adhering to quality and safety standards.
This is a FIFO site-based role on a 2:2 roster, with your point of hire in Brisbane, Perth or Darwin. Flights, accommodation and meals provided
What You'll Be Doing

Lead and manage SMP Supervisors who are responsible for daily on-site operations, providing oversight and direction across all SMP-related construction activities.
- Develop the capabilities of the SMP team, mentoring Supervisors and fostering their growth in leadership and technical skills.
- Maintain high standards of performance across all team’s, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.
- Oversee and coordinate all SMP construction activities, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and specifications.
- Ensure seamless collaboration between SMP Supervisors, engineers, and other key stakeholders to resolve any technical or operational issues.
- Monitor the work of SMP Supervisors and their teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality control, and technical specifications.
- Ensure that the installation, maintenance, and repair of all SMP systems meet industry best practices and project requirements.
- Ensure all SMP works are completed to the highest quality standards and in accordance with project specifications and engineering designs.
- Oversee quality control processes across all SMP activities, working closely with Site Supervisors to address any deficiencies or rework.
- Coordinate with the Site Engineer to ensure accurate interpretation and execution of technical designs.
What You'll Bring

Diploma of Leadership and Management, Diploma of Project Management, or equivalent demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
- Trade Qualification
- Construction Industry Induction (White) Card
- Mining Supervisor G1, G8, G9 – or the willingness to obtain
- Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and principal contractor obligations
- Knowledge of safety requirements for high-risk construction activities
- Understanding of construction sequencing, trade interfaces, simultaneous activities, and site constraints.
- Understanding of principal contractor, subcontractor, and client safety responsibilities
- Knowledge of current industry best practice in construction safety management
