About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Male Support Worker to provide high-intensity care for Autistic participant with complex needs and behaviors of concern.
This position requires a mature, resilient, and emotionally aware individual who prioritises consistency, structure, and a person-centred, trauma-informed approach to care.
The position offers a competitive salary, negotiable depending on your experience and qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1support to a participant with autism and complex behavioral needs
- Implement and adhere to Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs)
- Apply trauma-informed care principles in all interactions
- Support with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, transport, and household routines
- Facilitate community engagement and participation in meaningful recreational activities
- Accurately record behavior incidents, progress notes, and shift documentation
- Collaborate effectively with family members, support coordinators, and clinical professionals
- Respond calmly and professionally to high-stress or crisis situations, using de-escalation and behavior intervention techniques
About You
- We are looking for someone who truly understands the complexities of supporting individuals on the autism spectrum. This is a high-intensity, advanced support role, not suitable for entry-level applicants.Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of direct experience working with individuals with autism and complex behavioral needs
- Trauma-informed care and behavior management training essential
- Proven experience implementing Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies and Behavior Support Plans
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional under pressure
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and empathy
- Strong communication, observational, and documentation skills
- Reliable with flexible availability across weekdays, evenings, and weekends
- Must hold full working rights in Australia
- Must hold WA driver's Licence
