About The Merchant Hotel
The Merchant Hotel Brisbane is one of Brisbane's newest boutique accommodation destinations, combining contemporary style with exceptional guest experiences. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Full Time Housekeeping Team Leader to lead our housekeeping team and help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel.

About the Role
Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms and public areas are maintained to an exceptional standard while supporting and mentoring the housekeeping team.
This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll work alongside the team while coordinating daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the housekeeping team
- Allocate daily room assignments and monitor productivity
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure brand standards are consistently achieved
- Train, coach and onboard new housekeeping team members
- Assist with servicing guest rooms during busy periods
- Manage linen, guest supplies and housekeeping inventory
- Report maintenance issues promptly and accurately
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements
- Foster a positive, professional and collaborative team culture
- Work closely with Reception and Maintenance to ensure outstanding guest satisfaction
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A positive attitude and hands-on leadership style
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work weekends, public holidays and a rotating roster
- Full Australian working rights
