ABOUT THE ROLE
Applications are sought from experienced teachers to join the Senior School's dynamic Geography Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a team that empowers the learning experience of both students and educators.
Please note, this is a permanent full time opportunity at The King's School in North Parramatta.
As a Teacher at The King’s School you will:
- Actively engage students in the learning process.
- Effectively plan, structure and sequence learning programs.
- Understand the syllabus content and engage effective teaching and learning strategies in their classroom professional practice.
- Engage in professional learning and continuous improvement of classroom professional practice.
- Engage with colleagues in cross departmental activities, team teaching, observation and the sharing of resources, research and other initiatives to improve learning across the School.
- Engage with parents/carers in the education process.
- Effectively manage classroom activities.
- Utilise appropriate strategies for teaching students from diverse backgrounds

To be successful for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate how you meet the following:
- Inspire excellence in teaching and learning by fostering intellectual inquiry and demonstrating innovative pedagogy
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NSW Curriculum and its recent developments
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude to learning
- High standard of competency, proficiency and innovation as a classroom teacher
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with peers, students and other internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to contribute to the School community through involvement in Co-curricular activities
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Geography
The King's School is a Candidate School for the IB Diploma Programme and is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. Experience in teaching within IB Schools or teaching IB Diploma courses would be an advantage.
