Endoscopy services within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) are provided across Cairns, Atherton, Innisfail, and Mareeba hospitals, delivering essential diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as colonoscopy and gastroscopy to support early detection and management of gastrointestinal conditions. Multidisciplinary teams across the region work together to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centred care for both elective and urgent cases.

About your opportunity:
Support the provision of timely and equitable access to gastrointestinal endoscopies to ensure waiting times and access to local services are delivered in line with recommended guidelines. These improvements span across clinical governance, patient journey, long-term stability and quality / accreditation requirements.
Identify, investigate, escalate and develop potential solutions for validated program risks, within a timely fashion that will enhance service delivery and interdisciplinary functionality.
Establish, lead and maintain effective communication with interdisciplinary teams from the facility, HHS and HIU, including regular attendance at meetings/ workshops and forums that address strategic issues impacting on achieving the organisations goals with respect to patient access.
Lead and establish administrative processes that facilitate the efficient operation of clinical services, to support equitable access to specialist care and procedures through liaison and consult with key interdisciplinary leaders concerning all aspects of waitlist management, systems improvement and service optimisation (including revenue maximisation).
