The Academic Quality Team works across and with all areas of the institute to raise awareness of quality requirements, build capability of staff to meet quality standards, educate and review practices to ensure quality remains a focus for all staff in everything that we do. Bringing together elements of the Education Plan and the Student Experience Plan, the EQF supports improved educational experiences for students and provides improved education for staff to ensure quality outcomes.
The position reports to the Manager Academic Quality and works closely with other members of the Teaching and Learning team, including Education Consultants to monitor quality through quality reviews and course level reviews, to design areas for development of staff identified through those investigations and work with business areas to prepare for external audits from state funding bodies and regulators. The Academic Quality Team will help business areas strengthen their quality approach, implement academic policies, manage the scope of registration and support with transition of courses. The Academic Quality team undertake the annual quality assurance activities as scheduled in the Quality Review Schedule, Focus Plan and Quality Improvement Program.
As a Academic Quality Partner, your key responsibilities include:

Work with Chisholm leaders and key stakeholders to provide advice and guidance on quality concerns and issues through a sound understanding of Chisholm policy and procedures around academic quality.

Develop and implement supporting guidelines, checklists and information to assist management and staff to prepare for internal and external audits.

Design audit checklists and processes to elicit information about current practice in teaching and learning in comparison to the standards required.

Design, develop and maintain a proactive thematic focus plan to meet the business requirements of delivery areas and report any quality gaps identified, liaising with other Teaching and Learning stakeholders for implementation and support.

Plan develop and oversee the delivery of quality assurance programs and procedures including the Quality Improvement Program for course level deep dive reviews as well as broad sampling on scheduled thematic reviews.

Review and approve Training and Assessment Strategies on development and review to ensure compliance with training package, purchasing guide and the Standards and make recommendations for change where necessary.

Audit marketing materials, including student guides, course information and international student guides and social media material annually to ensure compliance with Standards for RTOs, ESOS Act and the National Code and VET Student Loans guidelines and provide reports and advice to support the Course review processes implemented by the Course Advisory Board and the VEAB.

Undertake Quality Improvement Programs with courses as per five-year schedule, including liaison with business areas to set up the program, undertaking deep dive course review, providing advice and guidance on improvement actions required and coaching business area stakeholders for improved practice.

Providing advice to business areas who are seeking to write and accredit new courses, convene oversight committees and assist with templates and support to implement policy.
ABOUT YOU
You are a highly motivated individual with sound understanding of the Standards for RTOs, the Victorian Funding Contract requirements, audit processes and approaches and quality teaching and assessment practices. You will be able to apply your extensive knowledge to examine current practice, analyse compliance gaps and devise remediation plans at a local and institute level. You will possess strong communication skills, including the ability to influence change of practice, as the Quality Partner will be the required to advise teaching staff around policy changes and compliance requirements to ensure quality becomes central to their work.
Qualifications required for the role:

Extensive experience in educational quality assurance and leadership

Desirable qualifications include TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent and/or a Higher VET or adult teaching qualification.
