Little Flower Junior OSHC provides care for children aged 4–9 years, with up to 195 children attending our program each day. As our service continues to grow, we are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Assistant Coordinator to join our leadership team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the service, fostering positive relationships with children, families, and staff, and contributing to the ongoing success of the program.
The position will primarily cover all morning Responsible Person shifts and most afternoon shifts through to service close. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging or experienced leader looking to grow their career within a large, vibrant, and well-supported OSHC service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the leadership and daily operations of our Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care programs.
- Work collaboratively with the Coordinator to lead, support, and inspire a large team of educators.
- Foster positive and respectful relationships with children, families, school staff, and the wider community.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practice, and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and quality standards, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all children.
- Contribute to service planning, administration, and operational requirements as part of the leadership team.
Requirements of the Role:
- Diploma in Children Services or equivalent as per ACECQA guidelines.
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, CPR, Asthma/Anaphylaxis.
- Current completion (or willingness to complete prior to commencement) of mandatory National Child Training (via Geckko).
- Strong understanding of Childcare legislation, including National Quality Framework, Standards, and My Time Our Place.
- Previous childcare service management experience.
- Child Protection training is required for this role.
- Proficient with childcare management software (Xplor preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership skills for team development.
