The key position activities of the Production Manager with M & J Chickens, deals and executes the following:
· Collaborate with diverse teams including sales and production teams.
· Understanding the requirements of potential and existing customers to ensure their needs are being met.
· Comprehensive knowledge of M&J’s business, supply chain, product offering and general business activities.
· Ensure the effective communication between these teams and the wider business.
· Maintain open communication and regularly update Management
Work closely with internal stakeholders, arriving at a commercial outcome designated in the strategic plan
Key Responsibilities
· Effectively plan, implement, and monitor production programs and strategies,
· Maintain a strong culture of excellence, innovation and continuous safety and quality improvement within the production environment
· Identifying production constraints, and plan production activities to ensure efficiencies in the entire process including control of costs
· Responsible for the operation of the production plant, as well as maintenance program, operating hours, parts and hours of operations.
· Liaising with other teams and managers to advise production matters
· Maintain clear communication around production timeframes, processes and general housekeeping
· Part-taking in acquisition and implementation of plant and equipment
· Ensure safe operating procedures exist for all tasks within the production and manage the Site Risk Register.
· Ensure team understands the principles of HACCP and GMP and provide training where necessary
· Manage expenses within operational budgets
· Maximise the recovery/yields of incoming raw material through to finished product
· Responsible for scheduling, manufacture and timely dispatch of all products and services.
· Manage any continuous improvement processes and initiatives within the production line
· Initiating and implementing a continuous improvement program with a core focus on waste reduction
· Co-ordinating and directing the team and monitoring performance
· Responsible to ensure the company’s HACCP & ISO 9001/2000 Standards

Qualifications
· Tertiary level qualification , & at least 2 years experience in the industry
Relevant Bachelor Degree required, or experience in lieu
Pay: $90,000.00 – $97,000.00 per year
