The position of Principal Clinical Specialist, Electrophysiology, provides field/remote clinical education, technical sales insights and support to team members and assigned accounts across ANZ.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Technical Leadership and Clinical Expertise
- Utilise in depth knowledge of cardiac devices and full BSC device portfolio to support customer adoption, troubleshoot complex cases, maintain legacy product knowledge and identify opportunities to expand product utilisation.
- Be the lead resource and trusted advisor for customer and implant queries, maintaining current knowledge of Boston Scientific products, competitive technologies, and evolving market practices to support informed customer decision-making.
- Provide clinical support including patient education, device programming, and follow-up, plus technical application and site coordination, ensuring customers receive appropriate support throughout the product life cycle.
- Lead technical discussions relating to product performance, clinical outcomes, workflow optimisation, and technology integration within customer accounts.
- Attend cases face to face (or remotely) with customers, operate Boston Scientific products where appropriate, and provide detailed training and advice to physicians on clinical attributes and techniques associated with Boston Scientific products.
- Build strong hospital relationships and ensure product use aligns with Directions for Use.
- Provide proctoring to team and customers for early cases to build competence and confidence.
- Be the lead resource for cardiac devices, troubleshoot complex cases, and maintain legacy product knowledge.
Strategic Customer Engagement
- Drive adoption of new technologies and act as product champion during product launches, supporting customer education and utilisation growth across strategic accounts.
- Respond to complex customer needs and complaints regarding products and service by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g., sales, clinical, research, marketing, technical support) to develop optimal solutions.
- Develop and execute account specific technical engagement plans in partnership with Territory Managers and Sales Leadership to support revenue growth and market penetration objectives.
- Organise and attend targeted 1:1 customer meetings to explore product utilisation, customer expectations, emerging clinical needs and opportunities to explore adoption.
- Identify cross-divisional innovation opportunities, share relevant information, and liaise with the global team to resolve customer complaints, ensuring effective communication with physicians throughout the resolution process.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and exhibitions as required to promote Boston Scientific products and services. Participate in planning and presenting at sales meetings.
- Follow up with customers after product implementation, training and clinical support activities to ensure satisfaction, address concerns
- Monitor customer feedback, changing customer requirements and competitor activity, sharing relevant market insights with commercial leadership and cross-functional teams to support business planning and customer engagement strategies.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Be recognised as a national leader, fostering collaboration and best practice sharing.
- Work closely with the education team to design and enact in-field training programs that enhance clinical capability and address training gaps.
- Assume responsibility for training competency check lists.
- Assist in creating and delivering internal and external training, support certifications to meet national standards, and oversee regular sharing of relevant journal articles.
- Collaborate to identify clinical efficiencies and engagement opportunities.
- Provide coverage for complex cases and support the ANZ business as needed.
Operations
- Optimise utilisation of stock nearing expiry, coordinate timely returns, and maintain appropriate inventory levels aligned with customer case mix requirements.
- Record customer information and activities in company’s CRM system and use the system as an alignment tool with other commercial roles.
- Ensure timely collection and reporting of all required medical documentation pertaining to procedural device operation.
- Once certified (partial or full), take part in the on-call roster and support the team after hours and on weekends when rostered on call.
- Travel as required to meet customer demand for the services described above.
