About the role
Mater Hospital South Brisbane, Rehabilitation Unit is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Physiotherapist to join their team on a casual basis.
This will require flexibility to work up to 7.5hr shifts across the 7day service including school holiday availability.
The Physiotherapy department at Mater Health provides a broad range of public and private acute health services with adults, women’s health, neonatology, children and adolescent services. The Rehabilitation Physiotherapy team provides specialist services to inpatients and outpatients in a primarily private setting. The team encompasses Physiotherapists and assistants who are passionate about delivering evidence based, high level physiotherapy clinical care across a 7 days per week service in a multidisciplinary environment. Physiotherapy employees may be required to work across facilities, service and/or sites as required.
Salary range $41.07 - $60.36 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a member of the Rehabilitation Physiotherapy team, you will provide patient centred, evidence based clinical care in a variety of orthopaedic, neurological, cardiorespiratory and general reconditioning caseloads across the breadth of our 7day service.
- Adhere to the Mater behavioural standards including the Mater Mission, Values, Code of Conduct
- Independently undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols to achieve patient focused outcomes
- Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision
- Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, students, support staff and volunteers in the delivery of clinical services
- Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
- Actively participate in translating research into practice
- Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies to facilitate patient centred care
About you
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- Eligibility and current registration with AHPRA
- Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number
Desirable Qualifications
- Membership of Australian Physiotherapists Association
- Experience in an adult rehabilitation setting (neurological and orthopaedic) is essential.
- Competence in using core physiotherapy skills in the rehabilitation setting to contribute to the multidisciplinary team
- Capability to independently manage caseload responsibilities, measuring outcomes and contributing to continuous quality improvement in service provision
