About the Role
As a Senior Engineering Manager – Mobile (Single Customer Frontend) , you’ll lead the teams that build and run ANZ’s mobile banking experiences across iOS and Android. This is a critical leadership role responsible for delivering customer-centric mobile solutions at scale, supporting millions of customers every day.
You will oversee a portfolio of 10+ mobile squads, leading Engineering Managers and senior technologists to deliver high-quality features and platform enhancements. With delivery excellence at its core, this role ensures mobile products are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality, reliability, and security.
Working in close partnership with the Mobile Principal Engineer and technical leads , you’ll help shape and execute the mobile technology strategy—balancing long-term architecture with near-term delivery outcomes.

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will:
Lead Delivery & Execution
Own end-to-end delivery of the mobile roadmap across multiple squads
Drive planning, prioritisation, and execution to deliver high-quality customer outcomes
Monitor delivery performance (velocity, throughput, quality) and drive continuous improvement
Ensure safe, secure and resilient operations of ANZ’s mobile platforms
Partner on Technical Strategy
Collaborate closely with the Mobile Principal Engineer and tech leads to shape mobile architecture
Translate strategic technical direction into executable plans across teams
Ensure alignment between engineering decisions and business priorities
Enable innovation by creating the conditions for teams to deliver at scale
Build High-Performing Teams
Lead and develop Engineering Managers and senior technical leaders
Foster a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative culture
Build capability through coaching, mentoring, and continuous learning
Attract and retain top engineering talent
Engage Stakeholders
Act as the senior point of contact for mobile delivery within the program
Partner with Product, Design, Architecture, and Value Stream leaders
Align delivery plans with broader customer experience goals
Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders on progress, risks, and outcomes

Technical Leadership
Strong experience in mobile engineering (iOS and Android) and architecture
Ability to engage in technical discussions and influence strategic decisions
Proven capability to align technology strategy with business outcomes
