Senior Cyber Security Advisor
- Salary: $116,413 - $140,849 (Plus Superannuation)
- Fixed term role: up to 6 months

The Role
The Senior Cyber Security Advisor resides in the Cyber Security Team within the Information Technology and Workplace Services Branch, reporting to the Manager Cyber Operations. The Cyber Security team is responsible for maintaining a range of cyber security assessments, processes, and controls to ensure the department is operating securely and in compliance with relevant WoVG standards and legislation.
Main accountabilities:
- Support the department to ensure it complies with Whole of Victorian Government standards.
- Assess security reviews to ensure service providers meet departmental security requirements and provide a risk analysis based on the results.
- Administrate security controls and monitor logs for events of interest and investigate for escalation or remediation.
- Maintain and operate Cyber Incident Response plans and processes.
The Team
The position of Senior Cyber Security Advisor forms a part of the Information Technology & Workplace Services branch within the Corporate Services group.
The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and emergency management.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Specialist Expertise: Demonstrated experience and ability to perform the technical functions of the role, particularly experience and qualifications in Cyber Security.
- Analytical Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to problem solve and exercise judgement whilst working independently. Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably.
- Influencing and Negotiating: Effectively influencing others to consider and adopt new ideas or recommendations; Involves experts or other third parties to strengthen a case; Builds behind-the-scenes support for ideas to ensure buy-in and ownership.
