About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to provide one-on-one support to participants across the Nambour to Caloundra region. Our participants range from children to adults, including individuals with autism and complex mental health support needs.
This is a casual position, with shifts offered based on participant needs and service delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support with daily living tasks and personal care
- Support community participation and engagement
- Assist participants to develop communication, social, and independent living skills
- Implement individualised support plans aligned with participant goals
- Engage participants in recreational and capacity-building activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
- Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders
- Promote a safe, respectful, and positive environment at all times
Essential Requirements:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- Current Queensland Blue Card (or willingness to obtain, where required)
- Valid Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Availability for flexible shifts, including potential weekends
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia
Highly Regarded:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability)
- Medication management
- Epilepsy management training (including Midazolam administration)
- Infection control training
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience supporting adults with autism
- Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Employment Details
This position is classified from under Level 2.1 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. Casual loading and penalty rates apply in accordance with the Award.
