About your role
Join IXOM as a Process Technician at our Laverton North chemical manufacturing site. Working within our Packing & Filling team, you'll play a key role in safely servicing, filling and packaging chlorine drums and cylinders while developing valuable skills in a specialised manufacturing environment.
This roster for the role averages 3 x 12 hour shifts a week and includes 2 Saturdays a month. The hours are 6:00am – 6:00pm. There is a progression to move up the responsibility levels and the opportunity to move into the production operations side for the right candidate.
The site is a licensed Major Hazard Facility and is managed under a rigorous safety management system, ensuring employees are protected.
Key Responsibilities
De-gas, service and fill all chlorine containers
Load and unload trucks with chlorine containers or plant raw materials
Assist with site operations, including electrolyser refurbishment, chlorine tanker decontamination and utilities operations
Record dispatches of products into SAP
Use of mobile crane and forklifts
Decontamination of chlorine containers for servicing
Painting of chlorine containers
Be trained in site emergency response procedures and be a part of the unit emergency response team
Who are we looking for?
Some process, production, assembly or warehousing experience
Possession of a forklift licence is strongly preferred.
The ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks for long periods of time
Strong attention to detail and a thorough and meticulous approach to safety
Competent PC skills
Good communication skills, confident to ask questions and speak up
Have a great team player attitude
