Chef (Roving) – Aged Care
Job description
St Basils is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Chef to assist the Catering Manager in preparing meals in their busy kitchens. This is a full-time role which will be required to work between our locations of Lakemba, Kogarah, Miranda and Randwick.
Duties include:
- Preparing and cooking all meals as per the menu
- Following the 4 weekly menus using documented and standardised recipes
- Responsible for cooking and plating meals
- Ensure appropriate portion control, visual appearance and texture compliance of all meals served are met.
- In the absence of the Catering Manager, you will be required to manage and lead the kitchen team and adhere to all HACCP standards and regulations.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Able to work full time
- Must be available to work weekends
- Previous experience in aged care is preferred
- Knowledge of Aged care Food Safety compliance requirements
- Cert III, IV in commercial cookery or similar qualifications with at least 4 years experience
- Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Experience in nutritional dietary requirements including texture modified meals
- Current NDIS check, Covid vaccinations are highly recommended
- Have Australian working rights with no restrictions
