Work Health, Safety & Injury Manager and play a key role in shaping a safer, healthier workplace across a complex, multi-site environment.
In this strategic role, you’ll provide expert WHS advice, drive continuous improvement and build safety capability across all levels of the organisation, from frontline teams through to executive leadership. You’ll ensure the organisation meets its obligations under WHS legislation across multiple jurisdictions while helping embed a proactive culture of safety, injury prevention and wellbeing.
Working closely with Quality, Safety & Risk, Human Resources and operational leaders, you’ll design and deliver initiatives that reduce harm, support injured workers and achieve measurable, sustainable safety outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide expert WHS and injury management advice to Executive, managers and staff across the organisation.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of WHS systems, policies, procedures and strategies across multiple jurisdictions.
- Oversee WHS legislative compliance, risk management and psychosocial safety across all business areas.
- Lead injury management, early intervention and return to work programs, providing guidance to managers and HR.
- Lead serious incident investigations, ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met and drive corrective actions.
- Champion a proactive safety culture through targeted education, training and capability building.
- Monitor WHS performance, incident and claims data, providing insights and recommendations to drive measurable improvement.
- Conduct audits, inspections and reviews to identify risks, strengthen compliance and continuously improve WHS outcomes.
- Occasional interstate travel.
About you..
We seek an experienced and solutions focused individual with:
Essential Criteria:
- Recognised qualifications in Work Health Safety (WHS) or a related field, and/or substantial high-level experience in a senior WHS role within a complex, multi-site organisation.
- Demonstrated experience applying WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice across multiple Australian jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated experience managing workers compensation claims and workplace rehabilitation programs, including return to work coordination, across multiple jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to lead the development and implementation work, health and safety strategies, frameworks and management systems in a large or complex organisational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to influence organisational culture and build genuine commitment to safety at all levels, from frontline staff to executive leadership.
- Demonstrate high level oral and written communication, interpersonal and consultation skills, with the ability to engage, advise and build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and sound professional judgement under broad direction.
- Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities, lead multiple concurrent projects and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Willingness and availability to undertake occasional interstate travel as required by the business.
- Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working With Children Check.
