What you’ll do:
This position holds full accountability for the safe, on-cost and on-schedule end-to-end delivery of capital projects, integrating project delivery with live operations at Major Hazard Facilities, complex processing plants and diverse infrastructure assets. Operating under the direction of the Capital and Fixed Assets Manager, the Capital and Fixed Assets Team Leader exercises decision-making authority across complex, multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments.
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large annual capital portfolio, from concept through to commissioning and close-out, across brownfield and greenfield projects.

Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams spanning engineering, construction, commercial and HSE, driving safe and high-quality project outcomes.

Embed a strong safety culture, ensuring rigorous process safety management and compliance with all regulatory and facility obligations.

Oversee cost, schedule and risk across multiple concurrent projects, applying earned value management and portfolio-level governance.

Lead commercial negotiations with contractors, consultancies and vendors, securing optimal outcomes for Santos.

Manage stakeholder relationships across Operations, Maintenance and Commercial, aligning on project priorities and decisions.

Ensure seamless operational readiness and handover to operations teams.

Build and develop high-performing project teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring:
To succeed in this role, you will bring extensive experience in capital project delivery within complex industrial environments, combined with strong leadership, commercial acumen and a genuine commitment to safety.
Key experience for this position includes:
Extensive experience in capital project delivery within complex, multi-asset industrial environments.
Background in oil and gas, resources or large-scale infrastructure across multiple geographically dispersed assets.
Demonstrated experience delivering brownfield projects within operating facilities, including simultaneous operations and change management processes.
Proven track record in contractor management, high-value commercial negotiations and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Strong project controls capability including cost, schedule, earned value management and risk.
Knowledge of hydrocarbon processing systems
Understanding of process safety and hazardous facility regulatory requirements.
Experience in managing a multidisciplinary team.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline.
