Job Description:
Roles and responsibilities:
- Lead delivery coordination for complex infrastructure workstreams, with primary focus on data centre network build, environment readiness and execution quality.
- Translate agreed market and platform solution options into executable infrastructure delivery plans, including milestones, dependencies, scope boundaries, risks and decision points.
- Partner with senior network engineers, application teams, technical leads, vendors, data centre operators and connectivity partners to sequence work and remove blockers.
- Support network build activities across core network, customer access network, WAN, co-location, management network and connectivity integration where applicable.
- Coordinate data centre delivery dependencies, including rack allocation, power and cooling readiness, structured cabling, rack-and-stack sequencing, hardware delivery and operational handover.
- Drive clarity and accountability across delivery teams by maintaining agreed plans, RAID items, decision records, status updates and escalation paths.
- Promote a delivery culture focused on outcomes, quality, collaboration and pragmatic decision-making without adding unnecessary process overhead.
- Ensure delivery planning recognises regulated market expectations, including reliability, operational resilience, auditability, change control, service readiness and execution discipline.
- Coordinate procurement readiness by tracking BOM dependencies, order status, vendor lead-times and delivery risks.
- Support testing and environment readiness across relevant development, certification, pre-production, QA and production environments.
- Provide project managers and governance forums with clear, concise status reporting on schedule, risks, dependencies, resourcing and delivery confidence.
- Escalate delivery risks early and make trade-offs visible, particularly where application decisions, server requirements, rack/power limits or procurement lead-times may affect network build sequencing.
Required experience and skills:
You are a technical delivery leader with a background in infrastructure delivery. You can influence senior engineers through judgement, credibility and collaboration. You do not need to be the deepest network engineering expert in the room, but you must understand how network, data centre, server and operational dependencies come together to deliver a reliable production outcome.
Must have skills:
- Strong experience delivering complex infrastructure initiatives, ideally involving data centre networks, enterprise networks, trading or other mission-critical platforms.
- Practical understanding of network build and delivery concepts including routing/switching, core and customer access layers, WAN/co-location connectivity, network management, monitoring and time synchronisation dependencies.
- Working knowledge of data centre infrastructure dependencies, including power, cooling, rack layout, rack-and-stack, structured cabling, cross-connects, server installation and hardware logistics.
- Proven ability to lead delivery through development, certification, pre-production, QA and production environments, including readiness and cutover prepa ration.
- Experience managing dependencies across network engineering, application/platform teams, vendors, procurement, operations and customer-facing stakeholders.
- Strong judgement to surface risks, challenge assumptions, manage trade-offs and support decision-making under uncertainty.
- Ability to convert ambiguous infrastructure problems into structured delivery plans, clear milestones and practical action ownership.
- Strong stakeholder communication and reporting capability, including concise executive-level updates and escalation of issues requiring management attention.
- Comfort working in Jira/backlog or equivalent delivery tracking tools to manage scope, actions, blockers and progress.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in financial services, trading platforms, market infrastructure, or other low-latency / high-resilience technology environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise network technologies and vendors such as Arista, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, routing, switching, multicast, firewalling and load balancing.
- Experience coordinating large-scale hardware procurement, BOM finalisation, vendor lead-times and data centre implementation planning.
- Understanding of operational service management, change governance, incident remediation, asset management, observability or monitoring uplift.
- Experience leading virtual teams and influencing outcomes without direct line management authority.
