Deckhand and Coxwains – Whale Watching Season

Batemans Bay Wild is gearing up for an exciting whale watching season and we’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Casual Deckhands and Coxwains to join our team on the water!
This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who loves the ocean, enjoys working with people, and thrives in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
About the Role:
As a crew, you’ll play a key role in delivering unforgettable whale watching experiences for our guests while ensuring the vessel is operated safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with vessel operations and passenger safety
- Welcoming and briefing guests before departure
- Helping with boarding and disembarking passengers
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the vessel
- Supporting the skipper and crew as needed
- Providing a friendly and informative customer experience
Essential Requirements:
- Current General Purpose Hand (GPH) and/or Coxswain qualification
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team
- Availability across weekends, public holidays, and school holidays
- Physically fit and comfortable working at sea
Desirable:
- Previous marine or tourism experience
- Local knowledge of the Batemans Bay area and marine life
