ABOUT THE ROLE

Our creative services give you the chance to be involved in assisting in the delivery of effective therapy services and learning on the job.
This role provides you with part-time work while you study and a guaranteed Permanent Full Time position as an Allied Health Professional (Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist) when successfully graduate from our AHA pathway career development program after completing your Degree Qualification
TAG has supportive, clinical and peer supervision processes in place to enable you to be well supported professionally as you gain valuable experience as an Allied Health Assistant. The role will be part-time or casual and hours may vary according to demand and around your university study commitments. A minimum commitment of 10hrs/week is expected. The position may involve a combination of client facing work, front desk reception and admin related tasks.
Your key responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assisting our Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to deliver exceptional therapy and support to our clients and their families through delivery of direct therapy (under the guidance and supervision of fully qualified professionals)
- Attending clinical supervision sessions
- Developing resources to support our interdisciplinary allied health team and our clients
- Answering phones and emails using standard processes
- Communicating with clients, customers and other team members
- Contacting new client enquiries and completing intake/case history and related client paperwork (e.g. consent forms and service agreements)
- Managing and scheduling client appointments using practice management software
- Keeping client files, including billing records and session notes, accurate and up to date
- Processing front desk payments including processing Medicare and Private Health Insurance claims
- Maintaining client confidentiality at all times
- Keeping a clean, calm reception area and tidy shared clinic spaces
- Assisting with groups and community events
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current university student studying a Bachelor or Master’s degree in either Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy
- Current Working with Children Blue Card obtained prior to commencement
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance obtained prior to commencement
- Motivated, fun and friendly
- Aligned with our TAG values
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to consistently follow a structured therapy plan devised by a qualified Allied Health Professional
