About the Role
The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Support Engineer to join the ICT Support Team.
Reporting to the Manager, Business Applications, this role is responsible for providing frontline IT support to staff across the hospital, ensuring technology services remain reliable, secure and effective. You will be the first point of contact for IT-related incidents and requests, delivering support via phone, email, remote access and face-to-face interactions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving, working with people and supporting modern workplace technologies including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, cloud services and virtual desktop environments.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Providing timely and professional technical support to hospital staff.
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, application and connectivity issues.
- Supporting Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments.
- Assisting with administration of cloud-based and virtual desktop platforms.
- Maintaining IT assets, documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Managing and prioritising service requests to meet service level agreements.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and communication throughout the support process.
- Participating in the after-hours on-call support roster.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and technology projects.
About You
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Experience providing desktop, service desk or end-user support.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and remote support tools.
- A strong customer service focus with excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn new technologies.
- A positive attitude and commitment to working collaboratively within a team.
- Experience supporting cloud technologies, Azure environments or virtual desktop infrastructure will be highly regarded.
