A wonderful opportunity has become available for an experienced Music Therapist to join the Montefiore on a permanent part-time basis. This position will complement our dedicated and extensive client engagement department and work closely with our diverse allied health staff.
The Role:

The continuation and enhancement of a holistic approach to the development and maintenance of evidence-based Music Therapy programs specifically designed for residents within an aged care facility
- Delivering individualised and group music therapy sessions

Supporting and encouraging residents to develop their music confidence and maintaining their existing music skills

Maintaining documentation and record keeping
Essential Criteria:

Bachelor’s degree in Creative Therapies and postgraduate studies in Music Therapy

Music composition and performance experience

Demonstrated competence in playing at least 2 instruments and music therapy interventions

Ability to liaise with various stakeholders at all levels within the organisation

Effective oral and written communication skills
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to work within a team and have a passion and genuine desire to work with an older population. Previous experience working within aged care and people living with dementia will be highly regarded.
